Adjunct faculty (non-tenure track) responsible for teaching one three-hour credit course in the Schieffer School of Journalism, General Semantics for Mass Communications Practitioners. Offered at graduate and undergraduate level.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Institute of General Semantics, Inc. Executive Director (January 2004 - December 2007)
Directed all operations of a member-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Effected legal merger and consolidation with a related 501(c)(3) corporation. Moved all business operations from New York to Fort Worth. Led a Capital Campaign (solely among membership) that raised $300,000. Managed the purchase, architectural design, and complete renovation for a $600,000 property. Organized and efficiently executed two international conferences, five week-long seminar-workshops, a building dedication weekend, two major website redesigns, and ten appearances at major trade show exhibits for educational professionals. Supervised two-person full-time staff in fundraising, educational development of seminars and workshops, membership management, library and archive organization and maintenance, accounting, website development and updating. Designed and generated marketing and collateral materials to support public outreach initiatives including trade show exhibits and participation at over a dozen major academic conventions across the country.

Professional consulting and training focused on language-behavior habits. Volunteer work primarily related to General Semantics programs on behalf of the Institute of General Semantics. Directed specific programs and projects, planned and conducted conferences and seminars, organized and maintained library and archive materials for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a part-time basis.
Rockwell Collins Government Systems (March 2000 - March 2001)
Principal Program Manager for ground communication programs in Richardson, TX. Directed program activities related to a high-tech communications development program for an international customer. Primary activities during this period included preparation of detailed cost estimates, proposal generation, negotiation of specifications, and pre-contract negotiations with in international government as customer.

Texas Instruments Defense Systems and Electronics Group/Raytheon Systems Company
(April 1982 - August 1999)
New Business Strategy, Program Manager, and Business Operations Manager for various programs in the TI Defense group. [In July 1997, Raytheon purchased the TI defense group.]
Developed broad-based business experience while managing all project components for $6M-$60M contracts, including US Government contracts and international customer contracts. Integral member of Joint Venture management team for a $3B defense weapon system product line. Principal contributor for negotiations leading to a $200M production contract with the US Army. Designed and facilitated workshops for a "white space" creative team tasked to develop strategies for converting defense technologies to commercial applications. Served as a communications bridge between engineering, management, financial, and marketing organizations. For four years managed the Performance Measurement System (PMS) or Earned Value (EV) system for cost/schedule performance for $250M development contract.

Instructor Navigator (rated, flying) for KC-135 air refueling aircraft. Stationed at Minot AFB, ND, from September 1980 to April 1982; Carswell AFB, TX, from September 1977 to August 1980; Castle AFB, CA, from May 1977 to August 1977; Mather AFB, CA, from June 1976 to July 1977. Honorable discharge.
