PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Broad business experience managing all project aspects of $5M—$50M programs and proposals for domestic and international customers. Integral member of a major Joint Venture corporate management team responsible for a $3B weapon systems product line. Designed and facilitated workshops for a "white space" team tasked to develop strategies for converting defense technologies to commercial applications. Served as a communications "bridge" between engineering, management, financial and marketing organizations.

GENERAL SEMANTICS

  • Developed and introduced a specially-requested course in General Semantics for Mass Communications at Texas Christian University.
  • Certified Teacher of General Semantics by the Institute of General Semantics.
  • Participated, taught or presented papers at about 20 different seminars, conferences, and symposia, including: Hofstra University, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Pace University, Alverno College, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Notre Dame, and University of Nevada Las Vegas.
  • Organized and hosted International Conferences in General Semantics in Fort Worth, TX (October 2006) and Las Vegas, NV (October 2003).
  • Led the initiative to merge the International Society for General Semantics with the Institute of General Semantics; purchase a permanent home and training center for the Institute in Fort Worth, TX; and was appointed Executive Director of the Institute. (January 2004)
  • Selected to give the inaugural Berman Lecture at University of Nevada Las Vegas, Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. (October 2004)
  • Regular contributor to the quarterly journal ETC: A Review of General Semantics. Edited the December 2004 special anthology edition, "General Semantics Across the Curriculum."
